Privacy Policy
SCOUT (“we,” “us”) operates the marketing website at scoutanddraft.com and the SCOUT application at app.scoutanddraft.com (together, the “Service”). This policy explains what information the Service collects and how it is used.
Information we collect
- Information you provide. SCOUT works without an account. If you choose to sign in (with Google or an email and password) to sync your tryout sessions, we store your email address and the sessions you create using Google Firebase. If you submit in-app feedback, we store your message and any email you choose to include.
- Your tryout data. Player scores, notes, and session details you enter are stored on your device and, if you sign in, in your private cloud account. This data is yours, we do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own use.
- Analytics information. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the marketing site and the app, for example, pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, and how a visitor moves from the marketing site to the app. Google Analytics sets cookies and may collect a randomized identifier and approximate location derived from your IP address. Because the marketing site and the app share the scoutanddraft.com domain, a visit that moves from scoutanddraft.com to app.scoutanddraft.com is counted as a single session.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To measure marketing-site traffic and conversion to the app.
- To respond to feedback you send us.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies & analytics opt-out
Google Analytics uses cookies to measure usage. You can opt out at any time:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out of Google Analytics across all websites.
Disabling analytics does not affect your ability to use SCOUT.
Data storage & service providers
We rely on the following providers, which process data on our behalf under their own terms:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) stores your account and synced sessions.
- Google Analytics processes usage data as described above.
- Netlify hosts the website and the app.
Your choices & rights
You can use SCOUT without signing in. If you have an account, you can delete your synced sessions in the app, and you can clear local data through your browser. Depending on where you live (for example, California residents under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access or delete your personal information; we honor verifiable requests. To make a request or ask a privacy question, contact us using the details below.
Children’s privacy
SCOUT is a tool for coaches. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent version.
