I’m James, a youth sports coach, not a software company.
I built SCOUT because I ran tryouts with a clipboard, a stack of paper score sheets, and a bunch of manual math. After tryouts wrapped, I’d try to quickly consolidate my scores and notes with my assistant coaches as we walked into the draft room. The first edition was an Excel file to help average scores and build a “best available” board. But let’s just say, others don’t love Excel workbooks as I do.
So I built the tool I wished I had. Customize a tryout session, score players on your phone during tryouts, and walk out with a ranked draft board. No spreadsheet required.
I’m not a professional developer, but I work in technology. SCOUT is built by a coach, tested on real tryouts, and shaped by feedback from coaches who use it. It’s meant to solve a problem, to create efficiency, and to allow for improved collaboration with other coaches. If it misses the mark, I’d love to know where and how.
